The role

Summary

Tabs is seeking its first Data Engineer to build and design the core data infrastructure that powers internal KPIs, customer insights, and AI systems. The ideal candidate will create a scalable data platform from the ground up, establishing data modeling standards and enabling analytics capabilities for this high-growth AI-native revenue platform.

What you'll do

Data Platform Design: Design and implement scalable data warehouse/lakehouse to support key performance indicators
Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain reliable data pipelines from application databases and third-party tools
Business Metrics Translation: Collaborate with leadership to transform business metrics into concrete data models and schemas
Data Standards: Define and establish data modeling standards and best practices
Data Quality Management: Implement monitoring, data quality checks, and observability for pipelines and core tables
Analytics Enablement: Create well-structured models and self-serve datasets to support BI and data analysts

Cloud Data StackHands-on experience with modern cloud data technologies
Pipeline DevelopmentProven ability to build production-grade data pipelines

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Data Engineering3-5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in a mid-stage startup environment

Required skills

PythonSolid programming skills in Python for data engineering tasks
SQLStrong SQL skills for data modeling and analytics
Data WarehousingExperience with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift
Data Pipeline DevelopmentAbility to build and maintain reliable batch and streaming data pipelines
Data ModelingExpertise in designing schemas and data models for analytical purposes

Nice to have

dbtExperience with data transformation tools
AirflowKnowledge of data orchestration platforms
BI ToolsFamiliarity with Looker, Mode, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms
B2B SaaSPrior experience in B2B SaaS environment, especially around revenue and customer metrics
