Summary

Teamworks is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to drive innovative GenAI features for sports technology platforms, focusing on building production-grade AI solutions that enable better decision-making for sports organizations. The role requires deep expertise in AI system design, backend development, and creating scalable, reliable AI-powered features.

What you'll do

GenAI Feature Development: Design, build, and ship production-grade GenAI features that help teams explore data and generate trustworthy insights
End-to-End AI System Ownership: Manage GenAI features comprehensively, from system design and LLM integration to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement
Platform Component Development: Create and maintain reusable GenAI platform components to facilitate AI-powered feature development across Teamworks
Best Practices Establishment: Document and establish best practices for building, testing, and operating GenAI systems reliably in production environments
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and domain experts to deliver explainable AI experiences aligned with user workflows

Technical

Programming ProficiencyStrong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, with experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs
System DesignAdvanced system design and architecture skills for distributed, reliable, and observable services
Data AnalysisStrong data reasoning and SQL fundamentals, including complex aggregation and time-based analysis
AI Systems ExperienceHands-on experience designing and operating production GenAI systems with prompt engineering, tool interfaces, and cloud deployment

Education

DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional Experience6+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrable customer impact
GenAI Production DeploymentProven track record of shipping GenAI or ML-enabled features beyond prototypes to production environments

Skills

Required skills

TypeScriptStrong proficiency in TypeScript for backend and frontend development
Node.jsExpertise in building scalable backend services and APIs
Cloud ComputingExperience with cloud environments, particularly AWS
GenAI SystemsPractical experience in designing and implementing generative AI systems
