Summary

Tennr seeks a Senior Product Engineer to architect and deliver full-stack features end-to-end that solve critical healthcare problems in their AI-powered referral automation platform. This role combines full-stack development expertise (frontend and backend) with AI model integration capabilities, requiring 5+ years of JavaScript/TypeScript experience and a founder's mindset to drive projects from conception through implementation in a fast-paced startup environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, sales, and customer success teams to optimize system performance and scalability while working at the cutting edge of healthcare technology innovation.

What you'll do

Full-Stack Feature Architecture and Implementation: Design and develop end-to-end features across frontend and backend environments that directly drive customer value. This includes architecting database schemas, building robust backend APIs with proper error handling and rate limiting, and creating intuitive, responsive frontend interfaces that healthcare professionals rely on daily. Ensure optimal performance, security, and user experience across all layers of the application stack.
AI Integration and Innovation Leadership: Lead the adoption and implementation of cutting-edge artificial intelligence techniques and large language models within the product. Evaluate emerging AI capabilities, integrate AI models into production systems, and develop thoughtful strategies for leveraging machine learning to enhance automation and decision-making in healthcare workflows. Stay current with rapid AI advancements and translate them into customer value.
Performance Optimization and Code Quality: Lead comprehensive performance optimization initiatives across the platform, including query optimization, frontend rendering improvements, and infrastructure scaling. Establish and enforce coding standards, conduct thorough code reviews, implement monitoring and observability solutions, and drive best practices in software engineering disciplines such as testing, documentation, and technical debt management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Customer Feedback Integration: Work closely with product and design teams to translate user research and behavioral insights into informed product decisions. Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to understand real customer pain points and incorporate feedback into iterative product improvements. Participate in customer discovery calls to understand healthcare provider workflows and referral pain points.
Feature Ownership and Project Lifecycle Management: Embrace full ownership of features from conception through implementation to iteration and launch. Drive projects proactively from initial scoping and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring. Take accountability for outcomes, measure impact through analytics, and continuously iterate based on user feedback and performance data.

Full-Stack JavaScript Development Expertise5+ years of professional experience in full-stack JavaScript development with demonstrated expertise in modern frameworks and libraries. Proficiency in TypeScript for type-safe code development, understanding of async patterns, closures, prototypal inheritance, and advanced JavaScript concepts. Experience building production-grade applications that handle high-traffic scenarios.
