The role

Summary

UiPath is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead the development of ML-first multi-tenant products and agentic solutions for their Supply Chain and Retail team. This role involves managing 75+ engineers and applied scientists while driving the technical strategy for AI agents and ML products in pricing and inventory management domains.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and scale a world-class multidisciplinary engineering team of 75+ engineers and applied scientists

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, applied scientists, and forward deployed engineers across multiple vertically aligned teams

Customer Solution Translation: Partner with Forward Deployment Engineers and Account Managers to translate customer challenges into scalable engineering solutions

Talent Management: Work with People and Talent teams to attract, recruit, and retain top engineering talent aligned with product vision

Product Development Oversight: Oversee end-to-end development lifecycle of agentic solutions, AI agents, and ML products for pricing and inventory management

AI Tools Adoption: Drive adoption of agentic coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot across engineering squads

Engineering Best Practices: Establish best practices for AI model deployment, system reliability, and operational excellence with security compliance

Technical Leadership: Analyze complex technical issues and technology choices, communicating decisions to drive consensus among stakeholders

Innovation Roadmap: Incubate new ideas and create strategic roadmaps for areas of focus within the organization

Quality Assurance: Ensure software deliverables meet requirements for quality, security, scalability, extensibility, and testability

Process Improvement: Continuously improve engineering practices and development workflows to increase quality, velocity, and productivity

What we look for

Technical

Commercial Application Architecture10+ years of experience architecting and hands-on engineering of world-class commercial applications

ML/Agentic Product DevelopmentProven track record of architecting and developing machine learning or agentic commercial products (not platform)

Cloud ArchitectureExperience architecting scalable multi-tenant architecture on cloud using container orchestration

Container OrchestrationProficiency with vanilla Kubernetes or Kubernetes-based solutions for scalable deployments

Programming ProficiencyProficiency in at least one programming language with strong software development fundamentals

AI SpecializationProficiency in at least one area of AI, preferably Large Language Models (LLM), Natural Language Processing (NLP), or Classical ML

Education

Engineering DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (preferred but not explicitly required)

Experience

Global Team ManagementAbility to work effectively with globally distributed engineering teams

Customer EngagementExperience working closely with customers to develop initial POCs and convert POCs to production products

Leadership ExperienceProven experience managing and scaling large engineering teams (75+ engineers)

Commercial Product FocusTrack record of delivering commercial ML/AI products that drive business impact for customers
