Xero is seeking an Engineering Manager in British Columbia to lead high-performing teams, drive software delivery, and champion AI-native engineering workflows. The ideal candidate will balance technical leadership with team development, focusing on system health, code quality, and operational excellence in a collaborative, innovative environment.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams, providing mentorship, coaching, and career progression support

Technical Strategy: Drive technical architecture, code quality, and system modernization efforts across engineering teams

AI Engineering Innovation: Champion AI-native workflows and integrate AI technologies across the software development lifecycle

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with Product and Design teams to align on shared goals and resolve dependencies

Operational Excellence: Improve developer experience, reduce technical complexity, and ensure sustainable engineering practices

Software ArchitectureDeep understanding of software architecture and ability to guide technical modernization efforts

Agile MethodologiesProven experience delivering software roadmaps in agile environments with complex dependency management

Education
