Summary

Xero is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their Infrastructure team, driving software development efficiency, AI integration, and technical modernization. The ideal candidate will guide high-performing teams, optimize engineering workflows, and balance product delivery with operational excellence in a hybrid work environment.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor high-performing engineering teams, fostering an inclusive and psychologically safe team culture

AI Integration: Drive AI-native workflows across the software development lifecycle, from documentation to testing

Technical Strategy: Translate high-level business goals into executable engineering plans, managing cross-team dependencies

System Modernization: Guide technical modernization efforts, decoupling legacy systems and maintaining high code quality standards

Operational Excellence: Ensure system health, high availability, and continuous improvement through proactive incident response

Software ArchitectureDeep understanding of software architecture and system design principles

Developer ExperienceExperience in managing technical debt and reducing operational complexity

Education
