The role

Summary

Staff Developer on 1Password's Growth Team, focused on architecting and leading the development of net-new self-serve growth experiences, instrumentation platforms, and experimentation frameworks across enterprise SaaS offerings. This is a technical leadership role requiring 8+ years of production SaaS development experience, deep expertise in feature flagging systems and A/B testing infrastructure, and demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives spanning frontend, backend, and data systems while mentoring engineers and influencing organizational direction.

What you'll do

Architectural Leadership for Growth Systems: Serve as technical DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) and systems architect for net-new self-serve growth experiences and experimentation capabilities, making foundational architectural decisions that shape how Product Growth operates across 1Password's enterprise B2B offerings and self-serve platforms.

Platform-Level Improvements and Standardization: Identify, design, and implement platform-level improvements that establish consistent experimentation capabilities, feature flagging infrastructure, and instrumentation standards across multiple product surfaces, reducing friction for rapid experimentation.

Cross-Functional Strategic Partnerships: Partner collaboratively with Product, Design, Data Science, and Analytics leaders to ensure experiments are technically sound, strategically aligned with business objectives, and integrated with organization-wide measurement and insights systems.

Experimentation Systems Evolution: Design, evolve, and maintain the underlying systems powering Product Growth including event pipelines, analytics integrations, feature flag orchestration, and A/B testing frameworks while scaling for velocity and reliability.

Guardrails and Best Practices Development: Establish comprehensive guardrails, best practices, and governance standards that enable rapid experimentation velocity while ensuring systems maintain performance, reliability, security, data privacy, and data integrity across the organization.

Technical Mentorship and Organizational Capability: Mentor engineers across teams, establish experimentation fluency across the organization, and contribute to raising the technical bar by sharing knowledge about instrumentation, feature flagging, and experimentation best practices.

Roadmap Influence and Technical Strategy: Influence Product Growth roadmap decisions and organizational strategy by grounding recommendations in technical constraints, infrastructure capabilities, scalability analysis, and opportunity assessment.

Hands-On Implementation and Code Review: Maintain hands-on involvement in implementing and reviewing critical architectural components, complex feature integrations, and foundational systems that require deep technical expertise and architectural depth.

Rapid Experimentation and Feedback Loops: Drive rapid iteration, experimentation, and fast feedback loops across the Product Growth organization, enabling teams to quickly validate hypotheses and measure impact on key B2B SaaS metrics.
