Summary

1Password is seeking a Staff Developer for their Usage Based Billing Team to build a critical billing platform that enables monetization of multi-product offerings. The ideal candidate will be a strategic technical leader with extensive experience in software development, capable of driving complex cross-team initiatives and setting technical vision for large-scale projects.

What you'll do

Technical Vision and Roadmap: Set and lead the 12-month technical roadmap for the Usage-Based Billing team, prioritizing foundational capabilities that amplify team impact and organizational effectiveness.
Architectural Leadership: Make critical architectural decisions across teams, ensuring products are scalable, secure, and meet high-quality standards while balancing technical excellence with business needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead complex cross-team initiatives, translate business requirements into actionable technical work, and ensure strong alignment with cross-functional partners on priorities, risks, and deliverables.
Team Development: Foster a high-performing team environment through mentorship, feedback, and role modeling, while distributing ownership to create growth opportunities and scale team capabilities.
Organizational Impact: Drive initiatives that create meaningful improvements across the development organization, supporting 1Password's customer experience across multiple platforms.

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Development ExperienceMinimum 8+ years of software development experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering large, complex projects
Leadership ExperienceExtensive experience in technical leadership, setting vision, and managing long-term (12+ month) technical roadmaps
Cross-Functional ManagementProven ability to lead cross-team initiatives and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
