Summary

Airwallex seeks an Engineering Lead for their Core Banking Platform team in Singapore to lead a high-performing team building distributed multi-currency wallet systems and transaction engines. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, focusing on scalable financial platforms that power global cross-border payments for 200,000+ businesses.

What you'll do

Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers while actively participating in hands-on development and technical design decisions
Distributed System Architecture: Design and implement scalable transaction engines and multi-currency wallet platforms for global financial operations
Financial Platform Development: Build and maintain mission-critical banking systems ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across client ledgers
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product teams and engineering groups to align technical solutions with business objectives and requirements
Innovation and Process Improvement: Develop productivity-enhancing tools and explore AI opportunities to improve engineering practices and system observability
Team Development: Foster a collaborative, high-performing work environment that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth
System Reliability: Ensure high availability and consistency across distributed systems handling critical financial transactions and data

Distributed Systems Expertise8+ years of software engineering experience with strong foundation in designing and implementing distributed systems

Education
