The role

Summary

Engineering Manager role leading Airwallex's IAM & Account Infrastructure team in Singapore, focused on building secure identity solutions and scalable account systems. The position requires extensive experience in high availability systems, access control, and authentication/authorization technologies, working with a global team to deliver enterprise-grade IAM products that support Airwallex's exponential growth.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 5-8 engineers working on IAM and account infrastructure systems

IAM Product Development: Oversee the development and evolution of identity and access management products using revolutionary technologies

Architecture Design: Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions that support Airwallex's exponential growth and high availability requirements

Security Implementation: Champion engineering excellence by establishing high standards for code quality, performance, and security across IAM systems

Data-Driven Optimization: Leverage data analytics to measure product success and identify opportunities for system optimization and growth

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate globally with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver exceptional IAM solutions

Strategic Planning: Make strategic decisions that optimize for long-term value and positively impact business and technology landscape

Customer Focus: Develop intuitive IAM solutions that enhance platform usability while maintaining enterprise-grade security standards

What we look for

Technical

IAM ExpertiseExtensive experience in Identity and Access Management, authentication, authorization, and access control systems

High Availability SystemsProven experience designing and implementing high availability (HA) systems and infrastructure

Software DevelopmentStrong background in software development with focus on secure, scalable systems

Cloud ArchitectureExperience with cloud-based infrastructure and microservices architecture

Security ProtocolsDeep understanding of security protocols including OAuth, SAML, JWT, and OpenID Connect

Education

Bachelor's DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

Advanced DegreeMaster's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred but not required

Experience

Management Experience5+ years of engineering management experience leading technical teams

IAM Systems7+ years of hands-on experience with identity management and access control systems

Fintech/SecurityExperience in fintech, payments, or security-critical industries preferred

Scale ExperienceExperience building systems that serve millions of users with high availability requirements
