The role

Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer for its Regulatory Reporting team, focusing on building sophisticated web applications that support compliance and operational workflows. The ideal candidate will develop complex, data-intensive interfaces for regulatory reporting, leveraging modern frontend technologies and AI-assisted tools to create high-impact internal solutions.

What you'll do

Frontend Application Development: Build and maintain internal web applications for regulatory report review, submission tracking, and compliance calendar management

UI Component Design: Design and implement data-heavy UI components including tables, charts, and drill-down views for financial data at scale

AI-Assisted Interfaces: Develop AI-powered review interfaces where compliance teams can interact with LLM agents for regulatory interpretation and gap analysis

API and Backend Collaboration: Collaborate with backend engineers on API design and data contracts, owning the Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layer as needed

Component Library Contribution: Contribute to shared component libraries and design system conventions used across Core Banking tooling

Data Validation and Error Handling: Implement robust client-side data validation and error handling for high-stakes compliance workflows

Testing and CI/CD: Establish and maintain frontend testing practices including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, along with CI/CD pipelines

Web Application DevelopmentExtensive experience building complex, data-intensive web applications with advanced UI components

API IntegrationStrong understanding of REST and GraphQL API integration techniques

Education

Academic BackgroundBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum of 5+ years of frontend development experience

Domain ExpertisePreferably with experience in internal tooling, operational dashboards, or fintech environments
