Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Growth team in Singapore, focusing on designing scalable backend systems that drive user acquisition and market expansion. The ideal candidate will architect microservices, enable data-driven decisions, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to build high-performance, secure backend solutions for a global fintech platform.

What you'll do

System Architecture: Design and develop scalable microservices using Java/Kotlin, ensuring high-availability and performance for global user demands

Data Infrastructure: Collaborate with data scientists to design robust data pipelines, analytics platforms, and event-driven architectures

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Frontend, Product, Design, and Marketing teams to translate business requirements into backend solutions

Experimentation and Optimization: Develop services supporting A/B testing, feature toggles, and real-time performance monitoring to drive user engagement

Security and Compliance: Implement secure coding practices, robust authentication mechanisms, and ensure regulatory compliance across backend systems

Programming LanguagesExpert-level proficiency in Java/Kotlin, with strong understanding of JVM-based programming

Cloud TechnologiesAdvanced experience with GCP or AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes infrastructure

System DesignExpertise in high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems and microservices architecture

Education

Academic QualificationBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum 5+ years in software engineering with focus on continuous integration and quality engineering

Architecture ExperienceProven track record in domain-driven design and event-driven architectures
