Summary

AKASA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in DevOps to join their Infrastructure and Platform teams in South San Francisco. The ideal candidate will manage and scale critical infrastructure systems, focusing on reliability, automation, and operational excellence in a cutting-edge healthcare AI startup that is transforming revenue cycle management.

What you'll do

Infrastructure Management: Build, manage, and optimize infrastructure using Terraform, GitHub CI/CD, and Kubernetes, ensuring scalable and reliable systems.
Monitoring and Observability: Create actionable visualizations and alerts using tools like Grafana, Prometheus/Mimir, OpenSearch, and Sentry to maintain system health.
Automation and Reliability: Identify and replace manual processes with automated, repeatable systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Production Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve production issues across application and infrastructure layers with precision and speed.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop comprehensive runbooks, setup guides, and architecture diagrams to support operational maturity and team knowledge.

What we look for

Technical

Infrastructure as CodeProficient with Terraform, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies
Programming5+ years of experience with Python and shell scripting
SystemsAdvanced Linux environment skills and comfortable with system-level operations

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

DevOps ExperienceProven track record of managing complex infrastructure and implementing reliability engineering practices
Incident ManagementExperience with production support and on-call rotations
