The role

Summary

Alan is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer specializing in Data Retention and Privacy for their Data Foundations crew. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the company's GDPR Orchestrator platform, focusing on data lifecycle management, privacy engineering, and creating scalable infrastructure that enables cross-area data governance.

What you'll do

GDPR Orchestrator Development: Own and evolve the core GDPR Orchestrator platform, including its safety mechanisms, audit trails, and operational health
Platform Enablement: Create documentation, templates, and self-serve tooling to enable data management across multiple company areas
Cross-Area Coordination: Align legal, security, data, and product teams on data requirements and resolve cross-area data dependencies
Platform Evolution: Drive platform design decisions and expand capabilities as the company's data ecosystem grows
Production Ownership: Design, implement, deploy, and maintain platform services with full operational responsibility

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Python and TypeScript
Cloud PlatformsExperience with AWS and/or GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform
DatabasesKnowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Platform Engineering8+ years of backend or platform software engineering experience with deep production ownership
Platform DevelopmentPrevious experience building and operating platforms, libraries, or services used by other engineers
