Summary

Benchling is seeking a Systems Engineer to enhance and optimize IT infrastructure, focusing on endpoint management, automation, and identity access management. The ideal candidate will leverage technical expertise to streamline IT operations, implement robust security solutions, and support the company's innovative biotech AI platform.

What you'll do

Endpoint Management: Maintain and improve endpoint management tools for macOS and Windows devices, ensuring a seamless user experience across the organization
Infrastructure Automation: Develop and implement automation workflows to enhance employee productivity and reduce manual operational tasks
Identity and Access Management: Implement and maintain robust IAM solutions using Okta, focusing on strengthening security and access controls
Infrastructure as Code: Apply engineering best practices including Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and implementing comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems
Documentation and Compliance: Build and maintain comprehensive runbooks, support documentation, and automation scripts while ensuring alignment with compliance requirements

Scripting LanguagesAdvanced proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python for automation and configuration
Identity ManagementExtensive experience with Okta, SCIM integrations, and IAM solution implementation
Mobile Device ManagementHands-on knowledge of MDM solutions like Jamf, Intune, and Fleet

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional Experience5+ years in IT Systems Engineering, corporate infrastructure, or related technical role
Project ManagementProven ability to own projects end-to-end, from scoping and planning through implementation and documentation

Okta WorkflowsAdvanced experience building scalable, self-sufficient automations in Okta Workflows
