Summary

Benchling is seeking a Software Engineer for its Developer Platform team, focusing on building scalable APIs and platform services that enable scientific innovation in biotech. The role involves developing extensible interfaces, AI-powered agents, and platform infrastructure that support over 200,000 scientists in accelerating R&D across academic and pharmaceutical research environments.

What you'll do

Platform Development: Contribute to software development lifecycle from exploration and prototyping through implementation and launch of developer platforms and APIs
API Engineering: Build and improve REST and GraphQL APIs that support extensibility and integration within Benchling's scientific ecosystem
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to transform user needs into scalable software solutions
Technical Innovation: Contribute to platform evolution by sharing ideas, learning quickly, and making informed technical decisions
Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable code that ensures reliability and usability of platform systems

What we look for

Technical

Software Development ExperienceMinimum 1 year of professional software engineering experience or relevant internship
API DevelopmentExperience with designing and maintaining REST and GraphQL APIs

Education
