Summary

Benchling is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their Study Lifecycle team, focused on building innovative software solutions for biotech research. The role involves developing critical platforms that help scientists organize experiments, transform data, and track biological samples, ultimately accelerating scientific discovery in a regulated environment.

What you'll do

End-to-End Project Ownership: Take full ownership of projects from initial design through prototype development to large-scale implementation
Full Stack Development: Engineer across the entire technology stack, designing backend models, implementing APIs, and crafting rich frontend components
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other teams to build optimal user-centric solutions
Product Innovation: Create new products and enhance existing platforms to achieve feature completeness
Code Quality: Write well-documented, thoroughly tested code that adheres to company best practices
Engineering Process Improvement: Contribute to maturing engineering tooling, best practices, and organizational processes

What we look for

Technical

Frontend DevelopmentStrong experience with React or similar JavaScript-based frontend frameworks
Full Stack CapabilitiesProven ability to develop both user-facing and backend experiences in web applications
Software ArchitectureCapable of designing scalable and maintainable software solutions

Education

DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional Experience2-4 years of full-time software engineering experience
Product-Driven ApproachDemonstrated ability to ship code quickly with focus on real-world impact
