The role

Summary

Confluent is seeking a senior Engineering Director to lead the Traffic & Networking organization, focusing on developing a highly resilient, multi-cloud network orchestration layer. The role involves managing a global team that creates sophisticated networking infrastructure for Confluent's data streaming platform, enabling seamless cross-cloud connectivity and innovative data movement solutions.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Manage a globally distributed team responsible for the programmable interface of Confluent's networking fabric

Technical Vision: Act as a technical lead driving vision, roadmap, and execution of networking infrastructure projects

Mentorship: Mentor managers and individual contributors to develop domain expertise in networking technologies and data streaming solutions

Cross-Team Collaboration: Drive cross-team projects with company-wide impact to deliver innovative capabilities and differentiate the platform

What we look for

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureDeep technical understanding of cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and cloud networking

Distributed SystemsExperience in building high-scalable distributed cloud-native applications

Education

Advanced DegreeMasters or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field preferred

Experience

Leadership Experience10+ years of experience leading large (12 or more) highly technical teams
