The role
Summary
Lead Jump's mobile engineering team building high-performance iOS and Android consumer applications for the end-to-end sports fan engagement platform. This hands-on management role requires someone who balances product excellence, engineering rigor, and team development while embracing modern AI-assisted development practices to accelerate delivery. You'll partner with Product and Design to scale experiences across a multi-tenant architecture serving NBA, WNBA, and NWSL teams.

Interview process
- 1Recruiter Screen — Initial conversation with Jump's recruiting team to understand your background, career goals, and alignment with the role. Estimated duration: 30 minutes. Focuses on your engineering management experience, mobile development background, and interest in the sports technology space.
- 2Engineering Manager Interview — Conversation with the VP of Engineering or another engineering leader to discuss your leadership philosophy, team building approach, and technical acumen. Topics include handling team conflicts, scaling engineering organizations, mentoring strategies, and your approach to balancing speed with quality. Estimated duration: 60 minutes.
- 3Technical Deep Dive — Technical interview with senior mobile engineers discussing system design, architecture decisions, iOS/Android development best practices, and navigating complex technical challenges. May include whiteboarding or architecture discussion focused on multi-tenant mobile platforms and scalability patterns. Estimated duration: 60 minutes.
- 4Cross-Functional Collaboration Interview — Interview with Product, Design, or Backend Engineering leaders to assess your ability to collaborate across teams, communicate technical concepts, and partner on strategic initiatives. Discussion of how you've successfully influenced and worked with non-engineering functions. Estimated duration: 45 minutes.
- 5Leadership and Values Discussion — Conversation with founders or senior leaders focused on alignment with Jump's core values: begin and build with trust, play like the underdog, win as a team, and do your thing. Discussion of your experience in startup environments, approach to innovation, and enthusiasm for AI-assisted development practices. Estimated duration: 45 minutes.
- 6Offer and Negotiation — Final stage including offer discussion with clear compensation details. Jump emphasizes transparency and follows a standardized compensation framework where all managers at the same level receive the same compensation package regardless of background or previous salary. Opportunity to discuss equity package and benefits in detail.
