The role

Summary

Jump is seeking a Technical Lead for their consumer-facing platform, responsible for driving technical strategy, architectural decisions, and engineering excellence in a modern TypeScript ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader who can shape product direction, mentor engineers, and leverage AI to enhance development workflows.

What you'll do

Technical Architecture: Define and evolve the technical direction of the consumer platform, setting long-term architectural vision
Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical 'north star' through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance
Product Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to shape roadmaps and translate complex problems into technical direction
Engineering Quality: Raise the bar for engineering quality across performance, reliability, testing, observability, and developer experience
AI Integration: Define and implement AI-assisted engineering workflows to increase team velocity and productivity

What we look for

Technical

Full-Stack Expertise8+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in modern full-stack web development
Architecture SkillsProven track record of owning or significantly influencing architecture for consumer-facing web products at scale

Education

Computer ScienceDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience preferred

Experience

Technical LeadershipDemonstrated ability to operate as a technical leader
System ScalingExperience scaling systems with constraints around performance, reliability, and product velocity
