Summary

Patreon is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Core Payments Experience team, driving innovative payment solutions for creators. The ideal candidate will manage a team of software engineers, develop strategic roadmaps, and create delightful, reliable payment experiences that empower creators to build sustainable businesses.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Set and maintain a high engineering bar, supporting and managing a team of software engineers to achieve strategic objectives
Product Strategy: Partner with Product and Engineering leads to define Payments north stars, success metrics, and roadmap sequencing for H1/H2
Technical Collaboration: Work closely with Payments Platform team to ensure robust engineering foundations that support Patreon's broader payment needs
User Experience Optimization: Ensure core payment journeys feel clear, trustworthy, and modern across web and mobile platforms
Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Insights, Creator Success, and other product areas to create cohesive payment experiences
Strategic Vision: Develop and propose product vision initiatives that discover future opportunities beyond the near-term roadmap

What we look for

Technical

Engineering ExperienceMinimum 5+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years of engineering team management
Domain ExpertiseProven track record in complex domains, preferably in payments, fintech, or mission-critical systems
Data-Driven ApproachExperience with experimentation-driven optimization and using data to inform product roadmap decisions

Education

DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred
