The role

Summary

Patreon is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for their Safety Engineering team, focusing on developing advanced ML models to reduce platform risks, detect fraud, and maintain account integrity. The ideal candidate will have end-to-end machine learning experience, strong Python skills, and a passion for using technology responsibly to protect creators.

What you'll do

ML Model Development: Explore data and develop machine learning models to identify and reduce platform risks
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, design, legal, and Trust & Safety teams to design practical ML solutions
Data Preparation: Analyze and prepare training data, including working with crowdsourced labeling and human-in-the-loop processes
Model Deployment: Own the full lifecycle from model concept to production, including backend code support
Performance Monitoring: Build observability into models, debug performance gaps, and continuously improve based on real-world results

What we look for

Technical

Machine Learning ExperienceProven track record of end-to-end machine learning system development
Programming SkillsAbility to write clean, reliable production code in Python or similar languages

Education

Advanced DegreeMasters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of Machine Learning experience or equivalent advanced degree
