Summary

Patreon is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Identity & Access to strengthen their core platform security and user authentication systems. The role focuses on developing robust backend solutions that protect creators and fans while enhancing the platform's security infrastructure.

What you'll do

Backend Development: Write backend and full-stack code as part of Patreon's core product
Security Systems: Build and deploy user-facing systems like multi-factor authentication, ID verification, and account takeover detection
Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders to define requirements balancing security, privacy, and compliance needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product managers, data scientists, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality features
Innovation: Champion innovative solutions that improve security and usability for creators and fans

Programming ProficiencyExpertise in Python or similar backend programming languages
Security KnowledgeDeep understanding of security and privacy concerns in identity data and authentication flows
Data ManagementProficiency in data storage techniques, data modeling, performance, and system reliability

Education

Computer Science DegreeBachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

Experience

Software Development2-3+ years of professional software development experience
Consumer Feature DevelopmentExperience building consumer-facing features with focus on quality and user experience
