Summary

Plaid is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Machine Learning Infrastructure team, focusing on building scalable, reliable platforms that enable advanced AI-powered financial technologies. The ideal candidate will design and implement critical ML infrastructure, driving the evolution of Plaid's data and machine learning capabilities across their financial data network.

What you'll do

ML Infrastructure Development: Design and implement large-scale ML infrastructure including feature stores, pipelines, deployment tooling, and inference systems

Feature Store Modernization: Drive the rollout of Plaid's next-generation feature store to improve reliability and velocity of model development

ML Ops Strategy: Define and evangelize an ML Ops 'golden path' for secure, scalable model training, deployment, and monitoring

Operational Excellence: Ensure operational reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency of ML pipelines and services

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with ML product teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that accelerate experimentation and iteration

Technical Leadership: Contribute to technical strategy and architecture discussions, mentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidance

Distributed SystemsStrong background in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems

MLOps ToolsProficiency in ML Ops tools and concepts, including observability, security, and reliability practices

Education

Advanced DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Industry Experience5+ years of software engineering experience with focus on ML/AI infrastructure
