The role

Summary

PostHog is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to support high-spend customers through technical implementation, migration, and optimization of their product analytics platform. The ideal candidate will be a customer-obsessed technical professional who can provide hands-on support, build automation tools, and drive successful PostHog implementations across enterprise customers.

What you'll do

Customer Implementation: Audit and optimize customer PostHog implementations for data quality, correctness, and privacy compliance
Migration Support: Lead managed migrations from other solutions to PostHog, developing automated tooling to streamline the process
Customer Insights: Proactively analyze support tickets, usage data, and customer conversations to identify potential issues and improvement opportunities
Technical Investigations: Conduct deep technical investigations into customer-specific challenges like identity resolution and feature flag evaluation
Strategic Advisory: Provide expert guidance on experiment design, retention analysis, and behavioral monitoring strategies
Product Improvement: Contribute product improvements based on insights gained from customer engineering work

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Customer ConsultingPrior experience in a technical consulting or customer success role, preferably in product analytics or SaaS
Project-Based WorkDemonstrated ability to manage short-term, high-impact technical projects

SQLProficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data analysis and migration
PythonStrong programming skills for building automation tools and data processing
Customer ConsultingExperience in technical customer support and implementation consulting
Data MigrationAbility to lead complex data migration projects between analytics platforms

PostHog ExperiencePrior experience deploying and using PostHog product analytics
