The role

Summary

PostHog is seeking a Product Engineer to join their fully-remote team building the comprehensive suite of products that companies need from startup to IPO. This role involves owning products end-to-end, from ideation through shipping and user support, working with Python/Django backend and React frontend technologies in a high-autonomy environment focused on rapid shipping and direct user interaction.

What you'll do

Full Product Ownership: Own products and features from beginning to end, including originating ideas, testing MVPs in production with real users, and ensuring ongoing success
User Research and Feedback: Talk to users regularly, build relationships with customers, bounce ideas off them, and iterate based on their feedback
Full-Stack Development: Ship and own the basic UX of your work using the PostHog design system, handling both frontend and backend development
Customer Support: Participate in weekly Support Hero rotation to investigate and resolve customer issues, providing real-time fixes and improvements
Technical Documentation: Write comprehensive documentation for new features and collaborate with content team on reviewing and polishing documentation
Design Collaboration: Collaborate with the design team when necessary to iterate and polish user experience beyond the basic design system implementation
On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system reliability and rapid response to critical issues
Product Strategy: Make product decisions based on customer impact and company strategy, with high autonomy in choosing what to work on next
