Role
What you'll do.
As a Software Engineer in the Enterprise Product division at Ramp, you'll architect and deliver end-to-end solutions for the world's largest and most complex companies, specializing in agent-based automation within our Core FDE (Forward Deployed Engineering) organization. This role combines customer-facing technical leadership with full-stack engineering ownership, requiring expertise in AI agent development, financial systems, and enterprise product architecture to unlock Ramp's upmarket growth trajectory. You'll work at the intersection of product strategy and advanced software engineering, directly influencing how billions in corporate spend flows through our intelligent infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- End-to-End Solution Delivery: Design, develop, and deploy software solutions end-to-end that directly address pain points for Ramp's largest enterprise customers. This involves understanding complex financial workflows, scoping detailed product specifications, and architecting systems that meet stringent enterprise requirements for reliability, compliance, and scalability.
- Agent Development and Autonomous Systems: Build sophisticated AI agents and autonomous workflows that expand Ramp's capabilities within the transaction flow. This includes designing agent architectures, implementing intelligent decision logic, optimizing agent performance, and ensuring robust error handling for mission-critical financial operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and Account Management teams to close enterprise deals, activate high-value customers, and iteratively expand the value Ramp provides. Participate in customer discovery sessions, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and ensure successful implementation of custom solutions.
- Product Roadmap Strategy: Drive the core product engineering roadmap through our embedding model by developing deep domain expertise within a specialized product area. Make strategic prioritization decisions about when to build customer-specific solutions versus accelerating broader platform initiatives, balancing short-term customer needs with long-term platform scalability.
- Technical Excellence and Code Quality: Maintain high-quality code standards across all deliverables, implementing comprehensive testing strategies, code reviews, and documentation. Champion engineering best practices for distributed systems, API design, and database optimization in a fast-paced, high-stakes fintech environment.
- Customer Discovery and Requirement Analysis: Conduct direct customer engagement to understand pain points, validate product assumptions, and gather requirements for enterprise customers. Document findings and translate them into actionable engineering tasks while maintaining a deep understanding of customer business processes and industry-specific challenges.

About Ramp
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
