Summary

Replit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Risk team, focusing on building advanced AI-powered detection systems to protect the platform from exploitation. The role involves designing innovative guardrails for AI-generated code, developing sophisticated abuse detection mechanisms, and implementing automated response systems to prevent various forms of platform abuse.

What you'll do

AI Security Guardrails: Design and implement advanced LLM guardrails to detect and prevent abuse scenarios in AI-generated code and agent interactions

Threat Detection Systems: Build AI-powered detection systems using LLMs to identify malicious patterns, classify threats, and automate response decisions

Abuse Prevention: Develop and operate comprehensive abuse detection systems to identify phishing, cryptomining, account takeover, and financial fraud across millions of daily user actions

Automated Response Mechanisms: Create automated enforcement systems that implement platform policies without manual intervention

Investigative Analytics: Analyze attack patterns using BigQuery and Hex, transforming investigation findings into new detection rules

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesStrong programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript for building detection systems and automation

Data AnalysisProficiency with SQL and large-scale data analysis using platforms like BigQuery or Snowflake

Machine LearningExperience building or fine-tuning ML/LLM-based classifiers for security and abuse detection

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Security EngineeringMinimum 4+ years of experience in security engineering, anti-abuse, trust & safety, or fraud detection

Threat InvestigationAbility to investigate complex abuse patterns and translate findings into automated defenses

Skills

Required skills

CybersecurityDeep understanding of security principles and attack vectors

LLM SecurityFamiliarity with prompt injection, jailbreaking, and LLM-specific attack techniques
