The role

Summary

Replit is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the Replit Cloud team in developing first-party cloud infrastructure that enables millions of users to build, scale, and deploy applications through their AI-powered development platform. This technical leadership role involves building 0-to-1 products, mentoring engineers, and working with cutting-edge technologies including TypeScript, React, Go, and PostgreSQL.

What you'll do

Technical Leadership: Lead major projects from 0-to-1 development and enhance existing first-party primitives to drive user growth
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers and product managers to rapidly iterate on Replit Cloud features and improvements
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve the most challenging technical and quality problems that impact product performance and user experience
Team Development: Mentor and develop senior engineers to expand team capabilities and foster technical growth
Full Stack Development: Build and ship products using TypeScript, React, CSS, PostgreSQL, Go, and Terraform across the entire technology stack
Product Innovation: Leverage cloud infrastructure to create differentiated experiences for non-technical and semi-technical users
AI Integration: Implement AI agents to proactively optimize applications for latency, reliability, SEO, and performance improvements
Engineering Leadership: Participate in engineering leadership decisions, steering teams toward high-impact initiatives across the organization

Full Stack Development10+ years of software development experience with proficiency in TypeScript, React, CSS, PostgreSQL, Go, and Terraform
Technical LeadershipMinimum 3+ years in technical leadership roles, demonstrating ability to guide teams and drive technical decisions
Cloud InfrastructureExperience building and scaling cloud-based applications and infrastructure systems

Education

Computer Science DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, OR equivalent real-world engineering experience
