Summary

Satispay is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join their Core Team in Milan, focusing on critical financial systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will architect and develop high-performance, secure payment platforms, driving technical strategy for core banking and risk management systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and innovation.

What you'll do

Technical Strategy Definition: Define long-term technical vision for mission-critical domains, architecting complex subsystems that serve as the foundation for the company's payment platform
Core Financial Systems Architecture: Design and scale high-throughput engines for transaction ledgers, payment orchestration, and external bank integrations, ensuring accuracy and availability
Identity and Security Infrastructure: Develop and maintain robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) infrastructure, including authentication and authorization layers to secure user interactions
Risk Management Engineering: Develop and optimize sophisticated services for credit risk management and real-time fraud detection, implementing advanced protective logic
Technical Leadership: Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define requirements, conduct technical analysis, and ensure alignment with strategic technical architecture
Team Development: Mentor junior engineers, drive adoption of AI-powered development tools, and foster a culture of operational excellence and high-quality engineering

What we look for

Technical

Backend DevelopmentMinimum 7 years of experience in back-end software engineering with expertise in microservices architecture
Java ProficiencyDeep experience with Java and Spring Boot for enterprise-level application development
Cloud InfrastructureStrong understanding of AWS cloud platforms, including EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, and ElasticSearch
Database ManagementExtensive experience with PostgreSQL and distributed database systems

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

System ArchitectureProven track record of designing high-availability, high-throughput systems serving millions of users
Financial TechnologyExperience in FinTech environments, preferably in payment systems or banking infrastructure
Cross-Functional CollaborationDemonstrated ability to work effectively across teams and communicate complex technical concepts
