The role

Summary

Sentry is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Developer Infrastructure team to optimize and scale delivery processes, improve developer tooling, and enhance the overall engineering workflow. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating efficient, reliable continuous integration environments and supporting engineering productivity.

What you'll do

Delivery Process Optimization: Optimize and scale Sentry's delivery process to enable engineers to ship high-quality code quickly and confidently

Developer Tooling Development: Create and improve tooling to enhance developer experience, automate repetitive tasks, and support efficient workflows

Deployment Process Engineering: Develop and maintain robust deployment processes and tools to ensure safe and efficient software delivery to customers

Onboarding Improvements: Enhance new engineer onboarding by automating setup tasks and accelerating first successful deployments

Metrics and Performance Monitoring: Define, monitor, and respond to key delivery metrics, identifying and addressing service anomalies

What we look for

Technical

Programming ProficiencyStrong proficiency in Python with experience in developer tooling and infrastructure

Container TechnologiesExperienced with Docker in production and local development environments

CI/CD SystemsFamiliarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) systems and automation

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Software Engineering Experience5+ years of experience as a software engineer or in a similar infrastructure-focused role

Developer ToolingProven track record of customizing or building developer tooling and workflow improvements
