The role

Summary

Sentry is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Developer Infrastructure team in Toronto, focusing on optimizing and scaling continuous integration and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will enhance developer workflows, automate infrastructure, and support engineering team efficiency through innovative tooling and process improvements.

What you'll do

Delivery Process Optimization: Optimize and scale Sentry's delivery process to enable engineers to ship high-quality code quickly and confidently

Infrastructure Improvement: Develop deployment processes and tools to ensure software delivery is safe, efficient, and reliable

Onboarding Enhancement: Improve new engineer onboarding by automating setup tasks and accelerating first successful deployments

Metrics and Monitoring: Define and monitor key delivery metrics, responding to service degradations or anomalies

Continuous Learning: Conduct retrospectives and create tooling to help developers prevent future outages

Programming ProficiencyStrong proficiency in Python with experience in developer tooling development

Infrastructure TechnologiesExperienced with Docker in production and development environments

CI/CD ExpertiseFamiliarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) systems

Education

Minimum QualificationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
