The role

Summary

Join Snowflake as an Account Engineer supporting the Public Sector and SLED (State, Local, and Education) markets. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing engagement, where you'll deliver Snowflake's AI Data Cloud solutions to government and educational institutions. You'll support technical evaluations, proof-of-concept demonstrations, and customer success initiatives while developing deep expertise in cloud data platforms, SQL, Python, and modern data technologies.

What you'll do

Technical Customer Presentations: Present Snowflake's AI Data Cloud technology, architecture, and vision to diverse audiences ranging from technical contributors to C-suite business leaders, tailoring messaging to audience sophistication and business objectives.
Proof-of-Concept Execution: Collaborate with prospects and customers to design, plan, and execute technical evaluations and proof-of-concept demonstrations for Snowflake solutions, working closely with senior team members to translate requirements into technical implementations.
Solution Architecture Guidance: Contribute to developing future-state architectures and technical solutions for customer data challenges, balancing technical capabilities with business outcomes and industry best practices.
Customer Relationship Development: Build and foster trust-based relationships with technical champions, stakeholders, and decision-makers throughout the sales cycle, establishing yourself as a trusted technical advisor.
Technical Expertise Development: Gain hands-on experience with Snowflake's platform through tailored demonstrations, hands-on labs, and structured learning resources while staying current with industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging data technologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Account Executives, Sales Development Representatives, Marketing teams, and Snowflake's partner ecosystem to coordinate customer engagements and ensure successful deal progression.
Public Sector Specialization: Develop specialized knowledge of SLED (State, Local, and Education) market requirements, compliance considerations, data governance needs, and sector-specific use cases for government and educational institutions.
Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and solution briefs tailored to customer environments and public sector compliance requirements.

SQL ProgrammingBasic to intermediate SQL knowledge for writing queries, understanding data structures, and supporting customer evaluations on Snowflake's SQL engine.
Python ProgrammingBasic Python proficiency or demonstrated ability to learn quickly; essential for automating tasks, building proof-of-concepts, and understanding data engineering workflows.
Cloud Platform FundamentalsUnderstanding of cloud computing concepts, infrastructure-as-code principles, and familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Education

Experience

Technical Role Experience1-3 years of experience in a technical capacity such as Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Software Development, Data Engineering, or Systems Administration.
SaaS or Cloud TechnologyExperience working with SaaS platforms, cloud data solutions, or cloud technology implementations; familiarity with modern data technology ecosystems preferred.
Customer-Facing Technical RoleBackground in a role that combined technical problem-solving with customer engagement, such as technical support, implementation services, or pre-sales engineering.
