The role
Summary
Join Snowflake's Monetization team as a Senior Fullstack Engineer to architect and own the commerce infrastructure powering the Snowflake Marketplace. You'll build end-to-end transactional systems spanning React-based UIs to backend payment orchestration, working on billing pipelines, entitlements, and invoicing at scale. This role requires 5+ years of full-stack software engineering expertise, strong React and Java/Python backend proficiency, and proven experience building commerce or fintech systems.
What you'll do
Build End-to-End Full-Stack Features: Own complete product features spanning from polished React-based checkout and billing user interfaces to production backend services that process, validate, and settle marketplace transactions at enterprise scale. Implement features that directly impact Snowflake Marketplace's revenue and customer experience.
Design Backend APIs and Transactional Services: Architect and implement robust backend APIs and microservices in Java or Python that handle the complete lifecycle of commercial transactions, including entitlements management, usage metering, invoice generation, and payment orchestration across Snowflake's global ecosystem.
Develop Frontend Component Systems: Create reusable, accessible React component libraries and frontend systems that provide buyers and sellers with clear visibility into usage metrics, spending analytics, and revenue insights. Collaborate closely with design teams to deliver intuitive, performant user experiences.
Ensure Transactional Reliability and Compliance: Contribute to the reliability, correctness, and observability of high-stakes transactional pipelines by implementing fraud prevention mechanisms, idempotency guarantees, comprehensive audit logging, and monitoring solutions that protect marketplace integrity.
Collaborate on Data Modeling and API Evolution: Work cross-functionally with product, operations, and billing teams to model, design, and evolve the data schemas and API contracts that underpin Snowflake Marketplace's commerce infrastructure.
Drive Engineering Excellence and Quality: Actively participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning. Identify and address gaps in test coverage, monitoring, and operational tooling for transactional workflows, driving continuous improvements to engineering standards across the Monetization team.
Champion Testing and Observability: Establish robust testing practices, monitoring systems, and operational tooling for transactional workflows. Proactively improve observability across billing pipelines, payment processing, and settlement systems to ensure production reliability.

Technical
Strong React Proficiency5+ years building complex, stateful user interfaces using React with deep expertise in component composition, hooks, state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, or equivalent), performance optimization, and accessibility standards (WCAG compliance).
Backend Engineering in Java, Python, or GoSolid backend development skills with strong expertise in REST and gRPC API design, relational database modeling (SQL), and hands-on experience building distributed systems or microservices architectures at scale.
Transactional Systems ExperienceProven hands-on experience building or maintaining production transactional systems such as payment processing platforms, billing pipelines, order management systems, entitlements engines, or similar commerce and fintech domain applications.
Full-Stack OwnershipDemonstrated ability to own full-stack features independently: writing technical specifications, implementing across frontend and backend layers, developing comprehensive test suites, and driving features to production with high quality standards.
Database and Data ModelingStrong relational database design and optimization skills with experience modeling complex transactional data schemas, ensuring data consistency, and managing database performance at scale.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer ScienceBS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field from an accredited institution.
Equivalent Professional ExperienceAlternatively, equivalent 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a demonstrated track record of shipping customer-facing features on production systems at scale.
