The role

Summary

Engineering Manager role leading Snowflake's Streaming team in Berlin, focused on building data pipelines and real-time infrastructure. Responsible for scaling the team, driving product partnerships, and delivering next-generation streaming capabilities for enterprise data platforms.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and drive projects from idea formulation to design and implementation across the Streaming team

Strategic Planning: Set team strategy and be accountable for team plans and deliverables in the data streaming domain

Product Partnership: Drive great partnership with the product management team to align technical roadmaps with business objectives

Team Development: Grow and build a strong, healthy and diverse team through hiring, mentoring and coaching

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineering and cross functional teams to deliver integrated solutions

Technical Leadership: Provide strong technical leadership to the team and partner teams in streaming systems and data pipelines

Analytics Enablement: Enable the data science organization, business groups, engineering teams to build comprehensive analytics quickly and effectively

Infrastructure Innovation: Drive next-generation innovation in real-time and near real-time data pipeline infrastructure

Operational Excellence: Ensure service availability, reliability and scalable performance across streaming infrastructure

Business Growth: Drive company initiatives and growth of the business in collaboration with product managers, marketing, sales teams

Technical

Software Development Experience10+ years hands-on software development experience with large-scale cloud data platforms

SQL Engine ExpertiseBackground in SQL engines, especially in SQL compilation and/or streaming systems

Streaming SystemsExperience building and operating streaming systems at scale

Cloud Platform ExpertiseExtensive experience with large-scale cloud data platforms and infrastructure

Operational ExcellenceDemonstrated track record of managing operational excellence for service availability and reliability

Education

Computer Science DegreeBSc/MSc/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent experience

Engineering Management3+ years of engineering management experience leading technical teams
