Stepful seeks an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of Product Engineers in building transformative end-to-end educational experiences for healthcare career training. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence, foster team development, and contribute to solving critical workforce shortages in healthcare through innovative technology solutions.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead product engineering team to deliver impactful outcomes, remove organizational blockers, and drive continuous improvement in team processes and performance
People Development: Develop engineers through personalized career growth plans, regular feedback, and strategic opportunity matching
Technical Contribution: Provide hands-on technical leadership by contributing approximately 20% time to codebase through code reviews, architecture design, and strategic technical contributions
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Operations teams to shape product strategy and ensure efficient, aligned delivery of technical solutions
Strategic Oversight: Manage projects across core technological pillars: Learning Experience, Careers Platform, and Human Connection tools

Full Stack EngineeringStrong full-stack engineering background with 6+ years of software product development experience
Technical LeadershipProven ability to guide system evolution, conduct code reviews, and maintain high engineering quality standards

Education

Engineering BackgroundBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Management ExperienceMinimum 2 years of direct experience managing software engineering teams
Startup EnvironmentPreferably with experience in high-growth startup settings, particularly in EdTech or HealthTech domains
