Summary

Sunday is seeking an innovative Software Engineer specializing in Robot Behaviors to develop advanced autonomous systems for home robotics. The ideal candidate will create high-level decision-making frameworks that enable robots to interact safely and intelligently in domestic environments, leveraging AI and systems engineering expertise.

What you'll do

Autonomous Behaviors Development: Design and implement high-level logic and decision-making frameworks that leverage sensor information to govern robot intent, focusing on safety, intelligence, and helpfulness.
Human-Robot Interaction: Collaborate with Product and Design teams to architect systems for natural communication and 'social intelligence' within home environments.
Animation Systems Engineering: Develop frameworks that bridge expressive character motion with physical hardware execution.
Product Development: Drive platform development toward in-home Beta deployments by building robust, self-contained, incremental deliveries that fulfill the company's technological promise.

What we look for

Technical

AI SystemsMinimum 4+ years experience developing end-to-end AI systems in robotics, games, or embodied AI
Programming LanguagesProficient in C++ and Python with deep understanding of concurrent programming and event-driven architectures
Multimodal AIFamiliarity with latest multimodal model research (VLMs, VLAs) and application to real-world robotics

Education

Advanced DegreeBachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Robotics EngineeringDemonstrable experience in developing autonomous systems, preferably in robotics or embodied AI contexts
Systems ArchitectureProven track record of building multi-process systems with emphasis on safe hardware control
