The role
Summary
Tabs, an AI-native revenue platform founded in 2023 and backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners and General Catalyst, seeks a Frontend Software Engineer to join their Frontend Platform team in NYC. Interview process
- 1Initial Screening & Resume Review — Hiring team reviews your resume, GitHub profile, and portfolio to assess technical background, relevant experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, and design system expertise. Emphasis on demonstrating platform service development and scalable system architecture experience.
- 2Technical Phone Screening — Initial conversation with a frontend engineer covering fundamental web development concepts, TypeScript proficiency, component architecture principles, and experience building platform services. Discussion of specific project examples and technical problem-solving approach.
- 3Design System Architecture Assessment — Technical interview focusing on design system design patterns, component API design, scalability considerations, and real-world scenarios from platform service development. May include whiteboarding or code discussion exercises.
- 4Full-Stack Technical Implementation — Hands-on coding exercise or take-home project demonstrating proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and building scalable frontend components. Assessment of code quality, performance considerations, and architectural decisions.
- 5Cross-Functional Collaboration Round — Conversation with product, backend engineers, and team members to assess communication skills, ability to work across teams, collaborative problem-solving, and cultural fit within fast-paced startup environment.
- 6Leadership & Growth Discussion — Final round with engineering leadership covering career aspirations, growth in the role, perspective on building engineering organizations, and long-term vision alignment with Tabs' mission in AI-native financial automation.
