Summary

Senior Software Engineer specializing in Document Understanding at UiPath, responsible for architecting and developing scalable cloud-based machine learning models that enable intelligent document processing including classification, splitting, and data extraction. This role requires 5+ years of experience in building large-scale commercial applications with expertise in cloud platforms, containerization, and modern DevOps practices, working across globally distributed teams to deliver reliable, performant solutions within UiPath's industry-leading RPA automation platform.

What you'll do

Develop Robust Cloud-Based Components: Engineer and implement reliable, production-grade components for the Document Understanding platform that enable clients to train, deploy, and consume machine learning models at scale. Focus on creating performant code architectures that handle large-volume document processing with minimal latency and maximum throughput.
Optimize Performance and Identify Bottlenecks: Conduct systematic performance analysis and profiling of the platform to identify bottlenecks, memory leaks, and inefficiencies. Design and implement optimization solutions that improve scalability, reduce computational overhead, and ensure the system maintains high performance under peak loads and diverse usage patterns.
Engineer Document Understanding Solutions: Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex problems in document intelligence, including custom model training, document classification, intelligent splitting, and semantic data extraction. Implement algorithms that leverage machine learning frameworks while maintaining system reliability and performance.
Collaborate with Distributed Engineering Teams: Partner with software engineers across multiple geographic locations and business units to design, develop, and evolve best-in-class document understanding capabilities. Ensure seamless integration across diverse environments, products, and third-party systems through effective technical communication and architectural alignment.
Maintain and Enhance Code Quality Standards: Implement comprehensive testing strategies including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end automation scripts. Establish coding standards, conduct code reviews, and continuously improve system maintainability, organization, and architectural quality to support long-term platform sustainability.
Drive Impact on Platform Reliability and Scalability: Direct work ensures measurable improvements to the platform's scalability, quality, performance, and reliability. Actively contribute to architecture decisions, technical debt management, and system design that supports UiPath's mission to deliver transformative automation solutions to enterprise customers.

Technical

System-Level Programming LanguagesProficiency in one or more system-level languages such as C#, Java, Python, or Rust with demonstrated ability to write performance-critical code and select appropriate languages for different components of the platform.
Cloud Platform ExpertiseHands-on experience architecting and deploying applications on major cloud ecosystems including Azure, AWS, or GCP. Knowledge of cloud-native design patterns, serverless computing, managed services, and cloud security best practices.
Containerization and OrchestrationStrong experience with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes or similar orchestration technologies for managing containerized applications at scale in production environments.

Education
