What you'll do.
Senior Software Engineer specializing in StudioWeb, UiPath's cloud-based automation platform serving 10,000+ monthly active users. You'll architect scalable backend services using C#, .NET 8, and cloud infrastructure while solving complex distributed systems challenges across Kubernetes and Azure environments. This role requires 6+ years of enterprise software development experience with strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, multithreading, and cloud architecture to drive technical decisions on a globally distributed team.
Responsibilities
- Design and Develop Scalable Backend Services: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for StudioWeb's microservices architecture serving 10,000+ monthly active users. Architect system components that handle over 200,000 total projects while ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness across cloud infrastructure.
- Optimize Performance and Reliability: Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks through profiling and analysis. Monitor application metrics, optimize database queries, and improve system throughput. Ensure high availability and resilience through redundancy strategies and graceful degradation patterns.
- Lead Technical Problem Solving: Devise and implement solutions to address production issues, scaling challenges, and architectural gaps. Conduct root cause analysis on complex distributed systems problems and mentor junior engineers on problem-solving methodologies and debugging techniques.
- Drive System Architecture Decisions: Collaborate cross-functionally across UiPath to design system components and APIs that serve multiple product teams. Participate in architecture reviews, design patterns evaluation, and technology stack assessments to maintain architectural coherence and support business strategy.
- Establish Engineering Excellence: Help establish and maintain effective agile engineering practices including code reviews, continuous integration pipelines, and automated testing frameworks. Champion code quality standards, refactoring initiatives, and knowledge documentation across the distributed team.
- Mentor and Knowledge Sharing: Work with globally distributed teams on feature development and engineering roadmap planning. Share technical expertise through code reviews, technical discussions, and onboarding processes. Guide architectural decisions by balancing business requirements with technical feasibility.
- Monitor and Maintain Code Quality: Implement and enforce code organization standards, automated testing coverage, and build automation. Establish monitoring and alerting for system health and performance metrics to catch issues before they impact users.

Technical
Enterprise-Grade C# Development
Proficiency in C# and .NET ecosystem (minimum .NET 6+, ideally .NET 8) with deep understanding of the language's advanced features including LINQ, async/await patterns, and dependency injection frameworks.
Multithreading and Async Programming
Expert-level knowledge of concurrent programming concepts including Task Parallel Library (TPL), async/await patterns, synchronization primitives, and the ability to debug race conditions and deadlock scenarios.
Cloud Platform Architecture
Hands-on experience designing and deploying applications on Azure (primary), AWS, or GCP. Proficiency with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), managed services (App Service, AKS, Functions), and cloud-native patterns.
Distributed Systems Design
Understanding of microservices architecture, service communication patterns (REST, gRPC, message queues), eventual consistency principles, and distributed tracing/monitoring. Experience scaling systems to handle high concurrency and data throughput.
Data Structures and Algorithms
Deep understanding of fundamental data structures (lists, vectors, stacks, heaps, hash tables, trees) and algorithms (sorting, searching, graph algorithms). Ability to analyze and optimize time and space complexity for production systems.
Object-Oriented Design Patterns
Strong grasp of OOP principles and established design patterns (SOLID, Factory, Observer, Strategy, etc.). Experience refactoring codebases to improve maintainability and reduce technical debt.
Database Systems and Query Optimization
Experience with relational databases, query optimization, indexing strategies, and transaction management. Understanding of caching patterns and when to apply NoSQL or specialized databases for specific use cases.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field
Formal education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating deep computer science fundamentals.

6+ Years Enterprise Software Development
Minimum 6 years of professional experience developing production software systems, with focus on backend services, distributed systems, or cloud platforms in enterprise environments.
Microservices and Scalable Systems
Demonstrated experience architecting, implementing, or maintaining systems that operate at significant scale (thousands of concurrent users, millions of transactions). Track record of solving real-world scaling and reliability challenges.
Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams on feature planning, architectural design, and technical roadmap development. Proven ability to influence technical decisions and drive engineering standards.
Cloud Infrastructure Operations
Hands-on experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting applications on cloud platforms including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/logging infrastructure, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

What you'll bring to the team
6+ years of experience in a software engineering role, using one or more high level programming languages (C#, Java, etc.)
Proficient in at least one programming language and its ecosystem
Experience working with Cloud Systems (Azure preferred, AWS, GCP)
Strong grasp of object-oriented programming and architectural design patterns
Very good grasp of multithreading, synchronization, TPL, asynchronous programming
Deep understanding of data structures (list, vector, stack, heap), algorithms (sort, search, etc.), and associated time/memory complexity
Broad understanding of their role and function within the overall business strategy, helping drive decision making on projects
Experience working with globally distributed teams, planning feature development, designing system components, and building engineering roadmap
