Summary

Zip is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the App Studio and Marketplace team, focusing on building a scalable AI-driven platform that enables rapid development of complex workflows and AI-powered agent integrations for enterprise customers. The ideal candidate will drive technical strategy, grow a high-performing engineering team, and contribute to Zip's innovative procurement technology platform.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Lead and grow a team of 10+ engineers, scaling to 20+ as the product and organization expands
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and engineering teams to define strategy, roadmap, and execution plans for the App Studio and Marketplace platform
Platform Development: Build a workflow platform that supports the creation of advanced AI super agents and enables rapid development of complex AI-driven workflows
Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on technical guidance including architecture design, code reviews, quality assurance, and incident management
Team Growth: Attract and hire top engineering talent, coach and develop individuals at all levels
Process Optimization: Design and implement processes that enable team scalability while maintaining speed and agility
Technical Vision: Set long-term technical goals and ensure enterprise-grade correctness, resiliency, availability, and scalability

Software Engineering ExperienceMinimum 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
Leadership Experience4+ years of experience managing and leading technical teams
Platform DevelopmentExperience building scalable platforms that serve multiple internal and external functions

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field (Physics, Math)

Product LaunchProven track record of successfully launching multiple complex products or systems
Team DevelopmentDemonstrated success in hiring, retaining, and developing high-performing engineering teams
