Summary

Airwallex is seeking an Engineering Lead for their Growth team to drive technical strategy, product execution, and architectural excellence in a fast-paced global fintech environment. The ideal candidate will lead technical initiatives, optimize user acquisition, and build scalable solutions that support the company's mission of creating a unified global payments platform.

What you'll do

Technical Strategy: Define and execute technical roadmap for the Growth team, focusing on scalable user acquisition solutions

Architecture Ownership: Design and maintain robust, scalable microservices architecture with a focus on reliability and performance

Team Leadership: Guide engineering team through code reviews, design discussions, and technical mentorship

Product Collaboration: Work closely with Product and Design teams to translate business requirements into technical implementations

System Quality: Establish and enforce engineering standards, implement automated checks, and ensure high code quality

What we look for

Technical

Backend Engineering8+ years of backend engineering experience with distributed systems expertise

Cloud TechnologiesHands-on experience with GCP/AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes

System DesignProven ability to design large-scale, high-availability systems

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field

Experience

LeadershipDemonstrated experience leading technical teams and driving architectural decisions

Growth EngineeringExperience in building scalable growth features and optimization frameworks

Skills

Required skills

Backend EngineeringExtensive experience in backend system design and implementation

Distributed SystemsDeep understanding of high-availability and scalable architectures
