The role

Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to lead identity and access management systems, with primary focus on Okta platform administration. The role involves designing authentication systems, managing access policies, and automating user lifecycles across global operations while collaborating with INFOSEC and engineering teams.

What you'll do

Identity Systems Architecture: Design, implement and maintain identity and authentication systems including Okta and Google Workspace

Access Policy Management: Manage and improve authentication policies, access controls and build robust access management frameworks

User Lifecycle Automation: Automate and orchestrate user lifecycles across all systems and services from onboarding to offboarding

Full-Stack Product Ownership: Own complete lifecycle of identity features from proof-of-concept through implementation to operations and maintenance

Incident Response: Handle escalations from IT teams and respond to incidents as part of on-call rotation

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with INFOSEC, People Operations, Engineering and IT teams to build scalable global systems

Platform Integration: Integrate identity tools with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and SaaS portfolio (SFDC, Slack, Google)

Custom Tooling Development: Build and maintain custom tools or services to solve complex identity management problems

Documentation Management: Write comprehensive documentation and maintain system diagrams for solutions and applications

Operational Collaboration: Work with IT Operations and Engineering teams to fill gaps and collaborate on cross-functional projects

Continuous Improvement: Constantly learn, test, evaluate and enhance identity products and offerings

Identity Standards ExpertiseExpert level understanding of SAML, OAuth, SSO and other common identity standards

Okta Platform MasteryExpert level experience with Okta identity and access management platform

Programming SkillsProficiency in Python programming language for automation and scripting

Infrastructure as CodeExperience with Terraform and infrastructure automation tools

Cloud InfrastructureExperience with AWS, GCP and other cloud infrastructure platforms

Access Management PrinciplesUnderstanding of RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, ACLs and access management principles

SaaS Systems ExperienceExperience working with SaaS-based systems and applications

MDM Platform KnowledgeStrong understanding of MDM systems including JAMF, Kandji, Intune for macOS and Windows

Education

Bachelor's DegreeBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field

Senior Level Experience5+ years of relevant experience in similar IT engineering or identity management role

Technical CommunicationDemonstrated ability to write strong technical documentation and communicate effectively
