Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Software Engineer II for their Notification Platform team in Singapore, focusing on building and operating a high-performance, scalable communication infrastructure that powers critical messaging across the organization using modern cloud-native technologies and distributed systems.

What you'll do

Notification Platform Development: Design, develop, and maintain a resilient, high-throughput, low-latency platform for delivering messages across multiple channels including SMS, Email, and Push notifications

System Architecture: Maintain high architectural standards through Event Driven Architecture with focus on scalability, traceability, and automation

Cross-Team Collaboration: Engage with Product, Engineering, and Design teams globally to drive business transformation and provide data-driven insights

Production Support: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across different system levels, ensuring platform reliability and performance

Channel Expansion: Identify and implement opportunities to extend notification capabilities across various communication channels like WhatsApp and inbox notifications

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in modern programming languages like Java, Python, or Go

Distributed SystemsExperience building large-scale, low-latency, high-throughput systems with middleware like Kafka and PostgreSQL

System DesignStrong understanding of Java memory management, multi-threading, high concurrency, IO/NIO, and network communication

Education

Academic BackgroundBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum 3+ years of experience in modern engineering practices for large-scale systems
