The role

Summary

Airwallex is seeking a Software Engineer II for their Issuing Platform team in Singapore to build backend services for card issuing, transaction processing, and settlement at global scale. The role requires 3+ years of backend development experience with Java/Kotlin/Go/Python, cloud infrastructure knowledge (GCP/AWS), and distributed systems exposure.

What you'll do

Backend Service Development: Implement backend features and services that support issuing, transactions, and settlement workflows

Code Quality Assurance: Deliver well-tested, maintainable code that meets functional and non-functional requirements

API Development: Build and extend RESTful APIs under the guidance of senior engineers

Production System Operations: Contribute to running production systems, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work effectively within a cross-functional, multi-region team

Code Review Participation: Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies

System Reliability Improvement: Help improve observability and system reliability over time

Technical Learning: Develop strong understanding of issuing domain, system architecture, and engineering best practices
