Summary

Airwallex is seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist to lead algorithmic optimization in the Payments team, focusing on advanced multi-objective optimization strategies for payment conversion, fraud risk, and transaction costs. The ideal candidate will drive technical innovation and provide strategic insights to improve Airwallex's global payments platform.

What you'll do

Technical Strategy: Define and drive technical strategy for multi-objective payments optimization

Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a technical owner on cross-functional initiatives solving complex business problems

Algorithm Development: Provide technical thought leadership on optimization algorithms and experimentation techniques

Infrastructure Design: Collaborate with engineering teams to build tools and infrastructure for scalable optimization

Strategic Communication: Communicate complex data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Mentorship: Mentor and coach junior data scientists and engineers

Machine Learning ExpertiseAdvanced understanding of ML algorithms, optimization techniques, and experimental methodologies

Production DeploymentAbility to design and implement ML systems that can be scaled and deployed in production environments

Education

Advanced DegreePhD or MS in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative field

Experience
