The role

Summary

Alan is seeking an experienced Fullstack Software Engineer to join their innovative Mo project, building an AI-powered health companion that provides personalized medical expertise. The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of product engineering, machine learning, and healthcare, helping to scale a conversational AI assistant that aims to democratize medical access for millions of users.

What you'll do

AI System Development: Implement new capabilities for Mo, the AI health companion, working across engineering, data, and medical expertise domains
System Scaling: Prepare the AI platform to scale from thousands to millions of active members, focusing on improving latency, reducing error rates, and enhancing error recovery
Architecture Enhancement: Extend the system architecture to support future Mo capabilities, including contextual understanding, new skills, and multi-country accessibility
Product Integration: Integrate Mo with existing Alan services like digital chat, healthcare provider mapping, and prevention programs
Team Development: Mentor engineers, contribute to product and engineering culture, and participate in hiring and team building processes

What we look for

Technical

Backend EngineeringStrong background in software engineering and systems architecture, with expertise in backend development
Machine LearningExperience with traditional ML, Large Language Models (LLMs), or ML DevOps
System DesignAbility to design scalable, reliable systems capable of serving millions of users

Education

Technical DegreeComputer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional Experience5+ years of software engineering experience
AI/ML Project ExperiencePractical experience in building and deploying AI systems, preferably in high-stakes domains
