The role

Summary

Benchling is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join their Enterprise Lifecycle team, focusing on building critical systems for regulated biotechnology environments. The ideal candidate will design scalable solutions that enable enterprise customers to navigate complex regulatory processes, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and meaningful impact on global health innovation.

What you'll do

Technical Leadership: Drive design and development of innovative products and systems that advance Benchling's product and business goals, serving as a technical expert within the team
System Architecture: Independently architect and implement solutions for complex problems including audit coverage, scalable export systems, document lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance workflows
Project Management: Lead large, sophisticated initiatives spanning multiple quarters, breaking down ambiguous requirements into concrete technical plans and iterative delivery milestones
Code Quality: Write exceptionally well-documented, well-tested code that follows company best practices and serves as an example for others
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, design, and stakeholders to translate customer needs into technical solutions

Education

Experience

Professional Experience8+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated progression of increasing scope and impact
Technical LeadershipExperience as a technical lead on significant projects involving multiple engineers across multiple quarters
