The role

Summary

Clipboard Health is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and backend services that support their healthcare workforce marketplace. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer with strong DevOps skills, capable of driving platform-level improvements and supporting a globally distributed, remote engineering team.

What you'll do

Infrastructure Design: Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, ensuring reproducibility, security, and automation across different environments.
Backend Service Development: Develop and maintain backend services using TypeScript, NestJS, and Node.js, with robust database interactions using MongoDB and Postgres.
Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, leveraging services like EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, and CloudWatch to support application and platform needs.
Internal Tooling: Build reusable infrastructure modules and internal tools to empower product engineering teams and improve overall development velocity.
Platform Feature Lifecycle: Own the complete lifecycle of platform features, from initial design and implementation to production monitoring and ongoing support.

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureProven experience managing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and production systems with a strong DevOps mindset.
Programming LanguagesProficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for backend service development.
Database TechnologiesExperience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL database management and optimization.
Infrastructure as CodeAdvanced skills in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

Startup ExperienceDemonstrated experience working in high-growth startup environments or fast-paced, agile teams.
Cloud-Native DevelopmentMinimum 3-5 years of experience building and supporting web and backend systems using modern cloud-native tools and frameworks.
