Summary

Cohere is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their Analytics & Data Insights team, working on cutting-edge AI infrastructure that powers advanced language models and enterprise solutions. The ideal candidate will drive data processing systems, collaborate across teams, and contribute to groundbreaking AI product development in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

What you'll do

Infrastructure Development: Design and implement robust storage infrastructure for advanced AI systems, supporting product launches and customer experiences
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with research, marketing, sales, and finance teams to drive strategic data insights and product recommendations
End-to-End Project Execution: Lead full-cycle implementations of data processing initiatives, driving outcomes with minimal supervision
Data Transformation: Convert unstructured data into high-performance datasets across diverse storage backends including S3, GCS, and POSIX

Technical

Programming LanguagesAdvanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with optional knowledge of Java or Golang
Data Processing FrameworksExpertise in distributed data processing frameworks like Apache Beam, Spark, or Flink
Cloud and InfrastructureExperience with Kubernetes, cloud storage solutions, and modern analytics tooling such as BigQuery, Airflow, or dbt

Education

Degree RequirementBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Professional Experience5+ years of experience working on production-grade data processing systems
